Sjur Mørdre added another Super Thermo mesh shirt for every ten degrees of cold. When it was more than - 40 degrees, he wore four (!) mesh shirts under his shell jacket. After the expedition, he sent this letter to Brynje:
Dear Brynje family. Our expedition is over. The goal had to give way to safety, but:
I have been sending warm thoughts to you for 30 days, every morning, every break, every session, every evening. How did you manage to create this amazing underwear?
I haven't been cold once in 30 days in the Arctic Ocean!!!
I have not put on an insulation jacket or down vest for a single break on the whole trip!!!
I never felt clammy, even though the sweat was pouring out of my body.
