In 1988, SINTEF conclusively determined that Super Thermo mesh made of polycolon is the underwear that dries the fastest and provides the best insulation next to the skin.

From pages 85 and 86 of the report:

- Despite hard work, the clothing remained slightly damp, and the moisture disappeared quickly when I stopped working.
- This combination (Brynje mesh and wool) is by far the best I have tried in Svalbard.
- Very satisfied, especially with the Brynje (mesh) and wool combination.
