Layer 1: Arctic Double - probably the World's warmest underwear

Arctic garments are worn closest to the skin and consist of thick merino wool on the outside and mesh on the inside. The garments transport moisture away from the body during high activity and insulate when you are at rest. Wool boxer and sports top are used under the Arctic garments. Arctic mittens are not thick enough by themselves, you need thick outer mittens as well, for example Hestra mittens. You also need warm shoes, for example Baffin boots. More about Arctic Double

Layer 3: Anorak, down jacket and pants

The Anorak protects against wind and snow. Down jacket is worn outside the Anorak or instead of the Anorak. If you must choose, go for the super warm Down Jacket. The Hiking pants work well for short walks outside in very little wind. On longer walks or when skiing, you need windproof pants, like the Ventile bib pants or Expedition pants. Windproof pants for women are found in Outlet.

About Brynje

The family business Brynje from Larvik in Norway has been known for quality since 1887. The world’s first mesh shirt was made in 1921 and further developed in collaboration with the Norwegian Armed Forces. Hillary and Tenzing climbed Everest in 1953 with Brynje mesh next to their skin. Today, Brynje’s clothing is used by polar guides and people in tough professions. When Brynjes garments handle the toughest places on earth, they will serve you well too.
