Explore Ventile Pant 4.0 for Men

  • NB: The pants run large - if you prefer a slimmer fit, go one size down.

This is a rugged hiking pant offering excellent year-round protection. The Ventile fabric is durable yet soft and comfortable against the skin. It's windproof and keeps you dry for a long time in rain, as the cotton swells to block moisture.

While it may not hold up in hours of torrential rain, the fabric’s exceptional breathability helps vent excess body heat far better than traditional shell pants. You’ll feel less clammy in wet conditions or when you get warm. Over time, the fabric develops a timeless, classic patina.

Version 4.0 Upgrades: Reinforced crotch area with extra-durable fabric. Kevlar panels on knees, seat, and calves with membrane for enhanced wind and water resistance. Improved fit with updated tech features, including extendable leg length. Sturdy belt loops made of strong nylon.

On the seat, knees, and inner calves, there's coarse Kevlar fabric with stretch that dries quickly and provides freedom of movement and durability. Along the thighs and calves, there are ventilation openings with zippers. The width of the pant leg can be adjusted at the bottom with snap buttons and a tightening strap. Gaiter loops at the bottom prevent snow and dirt from entering. At the waist, there is a robust Velcro adjustment, attachments for suspenders, and loops for belt.

In the old days, Ventile fabric was used by the Royal Air Force (RAF) in England to improve the lives of soldiers who landed in cold seawater during World War II. The material is still used by RAF today. Tenzing Norgay and Sir Edmund Hillary also used Ventile on Mt. Everest in 1953.
