Marthe Brendefur

Marthe Brendefur feels most at home on snow and ice. Growing up in western Norway with the unofficial motto "the steeper, the better," she developed a passion for the outdoors that has evolved into a love for long, challenging expeditions with skis and sleds.

Her first long journey took her across the Greenland Ice Sheet. Later, she was chosen to represent Norway on a South Pole expedition under the auspices of the Antarctic Heritage Trust. Led by polar guide Bengt Rotmo from Ousland Explorers, the team completed the 920 km trek and reached the South Pole on January 6, 2023.

Since then, Marthe’s cold adventures have only gained momentum. She has covered over 800 km in the Northwest Passage, Svalbard, Jostedalsbreen, Hardangervidda and Finnmarksvidda.

Deeply committed to protecting the remnants of pristine nature, Marthe advocates against unnecessary environmental intrusions driven by financial gain. By sharing her adventures and making conscious consumer choices, she aims to inspire others to see the joy and excitement that untouched wilderness has to offer. It is in these raw, natural encounters that she feels most alive.
