Washing Wool

Merino wool garments are easy to care for. By following our guidelines below, the delicate wool fibres will retain their natural structure and remain soft and attractive even with frequent use.

Our Merino wool products are machine washable on the wool cycle. If your washing machine lacks this feature, you can use a gentle, low-temperature cycle such as 'delicate' or 'hand wash'. Ideally, use a mild laundry detergent specifically designed for wool and make sure it does not contain enzymes or bleach. Don’t overfill the washing machine and take care to separate your darks from your lights!

Please note that our wool products cannot withstand chlorine and should not be soaked.

Wool garments should never be tumble-dried as this will cause shrinkage. (If you absolutely must, then use the lowest possible temperature setting!)

One of the advantages of wool is that it is naturally odour resistant; and therefore, does not need to be washed as often as other textiles. To extend the life of your garment, and help protect the environment, we recommend spot cleaning (gentle blotting) and airing as alternative ways to freshen up between machine washes.
